A burglar alarm is monitored when the alarm system is connected via telephone line or radio network or both to a remote central station known as alarm receiving centre (ARC). The ARC monitors the alarm signals from the protected premises 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and alert the key holders and or the emergency services as necessary.
